Hello world! I can't even begin to express to you how much it means to me for you to be browsing through my blog.  Food and I have a LONG and complicated history together! 

 

I grew up as one of the most pickiest eaters I'm sure you'd ever encounter and I'd like to believe that because of that, my Mom didn't get to cooking a variety of meals often.  (Plain chicken, green beans & rice for dinner every night for us!)  Between that and eating out so often, I developed a love of fast food and found myself eating that more than healthy food.  

 

Going away to college was a real struggle for me at first because I wasn't exposed to the same food that I had been used to eating for so long.  I remember my girlfriends had introduced me to eating salads by placing one piece of lettuce on top of my plate of just salad toppings & dressing each day and adding an additional piece each day that followed! We had an amazing eatery with every style of food that you could possibly imagine and it was all prepared right in front of us.  It was then that I began "testing the waters" and tried a little bit of this here, a little bit of that there.  I started to find that things I used to hate were now tolerable, or in some cases, delicious.  I continued to try new things and expanded my food palate tremendously.

 

When I left college, I wanted to take the food experiences I had with me.  I wasn't able to shake my picky-eating side entirely, but I learned that if I was able to see exactly what went into the food I was eating, my chances of trying it and actually enjoying it were pretty high.  And so began my cooking adventures!  

 

Flash forward a few years and here I am, a girl who loves finding, testing, creating and eating delicious meals!
